LinkedIn message character counter

Count a LinkedIn note and compare it with a limit you set. A browser counter for planning. It does not check LinkedIn or send the message.

How it works

  1. Paste the note you are planning to send.
  2. Pick a planning preset or type your own limit. The presets are labels for your own planning, not a reading of LinkedIn’s current rule.
  3. The page counts characters, including emoji as one character each, and shows how many you have left.

Questions

Does this check LinkedIn’s current character limit?

No. LinkedIn sets the real limit and can change it. The presets are planning numbers you can edit. The page never asks LinkedIn.

Does the counter send or schedule the message?

No. It runs in the browser. The text is not uploaded.

Why is the connection-note preset 200?

200 is a commonly used planning figure for a connection note. It is not a promise that your account can send 200 characters today. Change the number if your account shows a different limit.

Are emoji counted as one character?

The counter uses the number of Unicode code points. Some emoji use more than one. Treat a near-limit note as something to recheck in LinkedIn itself.

What should I do with the count?

Shorten the note until it fits the limit you intend to respect. A fitting note is not a relevant note. The signal still has to be true.
