Terms

Use these when a page on this site would otherwise drift into a vague synonym. Intent data and buying signals are not the same entry.

Signal-based sellingSignal-based selling is outbound that starts because a person or a company did something relevant, such as hiring, posting, engaging or announcing a change, and only then becomes a message.Signal stackingSignal stacking is the practice of combining two or more independent buying signals, plus fit, before a person or a sequence is allowed to start.Buying signalsA buying signal is a checkable event, such as a job post, a relevant public comment, a launch, a leadership change or a tool migration, that makes it reasonable to research whether a company has a problem you can help with.Trigger eventsA trigger event is a dated change at a company or in a person’s role, such as funding, a new executive, a launch, a migration or a first key hire, that may open a window to be relevant.Intent dataIntent data is information, often from publishers, review sites or ad networks, that suggests accounts are researching a topic, usually delivered as a score, a surge or a topic list rather than as a single event you can open.AI SDRAn AI SDR is software that takes on parts of a sales development role, such as finding accounts, researching them, drafting outreach or sending it, under rules a person sets.Agent-native softwareAgent-native software is an industry phrase for a product built so an AI agent can operate it as a first-class user, with shared identity, data, permissions and a runtime, rather than a human screen that later grew an API.Warm outboundWarm outbound is a first message that cites a specific, recent, true connection to the reader, such as their public words, a role they just took, or a genuine prior conversation.Multichannel sequenceA multichannel sequence is a timed set of steps across more than one channel, for the same person, that stops or changes when they reply or when a fact on the record changes.ICP fitICP fit is the degree to which a company and a person match the market you can actually serve: the problem, the context, the constraints, and the kind of buyer, independent of any recent signal.

Questions people ask

Why a glossary and not more blog posts?

The blog already has the long guides. These pages are the stable definition, with a link to the guide, so the two do not pretend to be the same URL.

Do the definitions claim a standard?

They claim how TWL uses the word on this site. Other vendors use the same words more loosely. Where that matters, the entry says so.

What is the core term?

Signal-based selling. The other entries are the limits around it: fit, intent data, and how a sequence is allowed to run. Agent-native software is defined as an industry phrase, not as TWL’s pitch.

Can I cite these pages?

Yes, with the canonical URL. They are not a substitute for the pricing page or for a competitor’s own docs.

Put the next workflow on the stack.

Start with the tool you need. Connect signals, TWL Reach and the rest of the system when the job is real.
