Definition
Warm outbound is a first message that cites a specific, recent, true connection to the reader, such as their public words, a role they just took, or a genuine prior conversation.
“Warm” is sometimes used to mean friendly tone. That is not the definition here. A cheerful email to a stranger is still cold. A plain email that cites their comment is warmer than a cheerful one that does not.
Signal-based selling is how you find the reason. Warm outbound is the standard for the sentence. TWL Reach should fail the draft when the reason is missing.
Do not manufacture warmth with a fake mutual or a scraped personal detail that is irrelevant to the offer. Relevance is the warmth. The LinkedIn prospecting guide is the longer version for that channel.

Questions people ask
Is a shared group membership warm?
Only if you say that is the reason and it is true. It is a weak warm. A comment about the problem is stronger.
Does warm outbound guarantee a reply?
No. It is a standard for honesty and relevance, not a conversion claim.
Where does TWL enforce it?
In the workflow, by requiring a source on the record before TWL Reach can draft. The template still needs a person to keep it specific.
Which guide goes deeper?
The LinkedIn prospecting guide, and the signal-based selling guide.
